Maxim Really Is For Meatheads!

We just saw this at FishbowlNY, a NYC media website (http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowlny/) and it kind of reminds us of Kiss, the space formerly at the Albion that used to serve meat with a side of stripper. Sounds like the Striphouse and all those other high end strip joints cum steakhouses. At least at Prime 112, the ladies cover their nipples. Well, most of 'em. So if Maxim Prime opens in Miami, we'll have two classy joints to go to based on the men's mag--that lounge at the Royal Palm on Collins by Rande Gerber, remember?  It'll only be a matter of time before the Maxim Bordello boutique hotel opens nearby. Cue the mayor with his key to the city and before we know it, we'll have our very own Maxim Read Light District. Bring it on!

New York City, NY (October 25, 2006) — Maxim magazine, the best-selling men's lifestyle magazine in the nation and the world, is joining forces with world renowned restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow and his China Grill Management to develop "Maxim Prime," a new concept version of the traditional steakhouse, it was announced today by Dennis Publishing president and CEO Stephen Colvin. Chodorow and his culinary team will oversee the restaurant design, recruitment of staff and creation of menus. The design will feature a mix of cutting-edge style, comfort and sophistication that has become a trademark of other Chodorow restaurants, including China Grill, Asia de Cuba, Social Miami at Sagamore, Social Hollywood and Ono at Hotel Gansevoort. The partners expect to have 15 Maxim Prime restaurants open across the country within five years, with the first scheduled to open in spring 2007.
