GET YOUR NIKOLAS STRAIGHT. HEAT DRAFT JOVIC, NOT JOKIC: Nikola Jokic is the Denver Nuggets center and two-time NBA MVP. Nikola Jovic (pictured) is the Miami Heat's newest player, a 6-10 forward drafted 27th overall Thursday. Both are Serebian. The Heat can only pray their guy's skills are close to Jokic's as the name. ESPN's condensed post-draft analyis of the state of the Heat and where Jovic fits: "Miami is coming off a positive season, finishing with No. 1 seed in East and falling one game short of NBA Finals in narrow Game 7 loss to Celtics. With most of their core intact next season, Heat will continue to navigate salary cap and luxury tax restraints while trying to add value along the margins -- something they've done more successfully than any team in NBA over past few years, thanks to outstanding scouting, player development and coaching. Tyler Herro's extension eligibility, Victor Oladipo's free agency, and Kyle Lowry's age and declining playoff performance are main issues front office will evaluate in offseason. Whether to explore trade for Duncan Robinson, one of team's highest-paid players who fell out of playoff rotation, is another important decision. Considering the relatively solid depth the team has developed throughout roster, Heat were in position to draft any type of player they want with their late first-round pick, giving them flexibility. Jovic has impressive dimensions for a player who spent much of season at the small forward position -- measuring 6-11 in shoes with a 9 1/2-foot standing reach that might allow him to see minutes at center as his frame fills out. He's a skilled, versatile offensive player who shows strong passing ability and flashes of dynamic shot-making and shot-creation, as well as unbridled confidence. Jovic grappled with poor scoring efficiency this season, has major question marks defensively, and struggled in private workouts -- something that caused his stock to drop somewhat on draft night."
