NFL WEEK 12 PICKS: DOLPHINS ATJETS, G.O.A.T. BOWL GAME OF THE WEEK, 2 BIG UPSETS AND ALL THE REST: The Week 11 picks were a rough 8-6 straight-up for us but a better 9-5 against the spread. Last week we failed miserably on our Lions-Panthers Upset of the Week, “Aawwk!” turning to “Aawwful.” But plenty else went right. Called Houston’s mini-upset of New England, and also had a pair of ‘dogs-with-points in covers by the Jets and Cowboys. Highlighting our new Week 12 picks: Can Tua and the Dolphins rebound at the winless but nemesis Jets? Who'll prevail in the Game Of the Week G.O.A.T. Bowl between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes? And our big Upset of the Week involves the AFC East ... but which team? This is our 30th season of NFL picks in the Miami Herald, and we thank you for joining us on the journey. For our latest picks for the entire slate of games, visit NFL Week 12 Gems. Our week got off to a rousing start on Thanksgiving Day as we went 2-0 both straight-up and against the spread, calling both Houston's big win in Detroit and Washington's upset at Dallas. We're on an ATS roll the past two-plus weeks, on a 22-8 run vs. the betting line. Can we keep it up? Let's see. Our picks appear Thursday afternoons every week online, and Fridays in print, after the Thursday night pick(s) appear separately Wednesdays online and Thursdays in print.

CFB WEEK 13: HURRICANES REMAIN IDLED BY COVID, FIU GAME CANCELED: The 10th-ranked 7-1 Miami Hurricanes -- like much of college football and increasingly the NFL -- have seen their seasons directly affected by the coronavirus pandemic. with all three remaining regular season games re-scheduled. And 0-5 FIU's scheduled Saturday game vs. Louisiana Tech has been canceled. UM's readjusted remaining schedule: December 5 at Wake Forest, December 12 vs. North Carolina and December 19 vs. Georgia Tech -- although the Ga-Tech game will be played only if Miami is not in the ACC Championship Game, which is also that day. To reach the conference title game, the Canes must win out and hope No. 2 Notre Dame and No. 3 Clemson loses. Irish visit No. 19 North Carolina today. Can the Tar Heels do UM a huge favor? FIU's remaining schedule is December 5 at Charlotte and December 11 vs. Marshall.
