PicksNFL WEEK 16 PICKS: DOLPHINS-JAGUARS, GAME OF WEEK, UPSETS AND THE REST: Our rollicking, parade-worthy season of NFL picks continues into Week 16 as we carry a .694 winning percentage overall and a fat .590 against the point spread. We were a stout 11-5 both overall and vs. the betting line last week. We banked yet another Upset of the Week with Steelers beating Patriots ("Aawwk!"), nailed a second outright upset with Titans winning at Giants, and had a pair of 'dogs-with-points in Redskins and Eagles. We move on to the last two regular-season weeks and Week 16 delivers three big upsets. See what they are and whether Jaguars at Dolphins is among them. Also check out our Game of the Week and all the rest. Visit Week 16 Gems for all of our latest selections.

BahamasBAHAMAS BOWL: FIU 35, TOLEDO 32: PANTHERS GET RECORD 9TH WIN: FIU beats Toledo 35-32 in the Bahamas Bowl on Saturday to finish 9-4, a school record for seasons wins. Congrats, Butch Davis. FIU was a 7-point underdog but I called the upset (and the exact margin); see below ..... Original post: FIU is 8-5 and after a school-record ninth season win in today's 12:30 matinee Bahamas Bowl in Nassau vs. 7-5 Toledo on ESPN. It's a surprise (to me) that Butch Davis' ButchCats are big 7-point underdogs in the C-USA vs. MAC matchup, on a line that opened at 4.5 and rose with money against FIU. The biggest certainty might be the "over" on 66 1/2 points, because these are two high-scoring offenses and two susceptible defenses. Buckle up. Toledo averages 41.4 points with a ground game that averages 224 yards, vs. an FIU run-D giving up 198 run yards per. Uh oh. But FIU averages 34.6 points and its air game should have a big day against a shaky Toledo pass-D. The punters may not see the field. My pick: Upset! FIU, 41-38.
