Everyone knows the way to stop a bear charging is to take away its card. (Someone had to say it!)

It would be more entertaining if the snowmobile ran out of gas.

What's that saying about bears? "If it's black, fight back, if it's brown, lie down, if it's white, say goodnight?"
Norwegian wisdom: The man who keeps his snowmobile in good shape stays off the menu.

Polar Bears can sprint at 25 mph. That bear was not charging; it was curious. The man knew that and preferred not to shoot it.
Pyramiden is a unique place, unlike anywhere else in Norway. This time of year, there may be more boars outside than people. (Yes I've been there)

Many years ago on a family trip across Canada we stopped to visit a friend of Dad's in Montreal. He had been on an expedition surveying near Churchill Canada. One day, while walking back to his tent, a polar bear came out of the tent, saw dinner, and charger. Dad's friend unlimbered his .308 rifle and fired. The bear kept coming. He fired again. And one more time.
Anyway, he had a polar bear rug covering the floor of his living room, with 3 .308 inch holes in it's chest.

@wiredog - that's quite a story!

@MOTW
It was a huge rug, too. The paws were larger than my head. And the bullet holes were in a one inch area.
