In all seriousness: It happens; he was nervous. It's worth a good harmless laugh. It was a lot less harmful than the stuff all the bridezillas and momzillas pull.

My 82-yr-old Grandma was supposed to walk my Singaporean Missus-to-be down the aisle in 1986. But the bride panicked and gave her a push, so she tottered down the aisle alone looking confused but happy. A wonderful moment to remember.
