DON'T MAKE ANY PLANS AFTER NEXT TUESDAY

...And in a slight ominous warning, the expert went on:: “An additional element of the story is that Apophis has been largely unmonitored by telescopes since May 2021 and will remain so through 2027. This arises simply because of the relative geometry of Apophis, Earth, and the Sun, which puts the asteroid in the daytime sky for the time span in question." So, in an excess of caution, I'm keeping my schedule open for Friday April 13, 2029.

We're not that lucky.

Wait...so an asteroid that wasn't going to hit Earth, still isn't going to hit Earth UNLESS something else hits the asteroid to change its course, which would have been the case all along. So what's changed?

Pulling out my handy 'DBBlog Asteroid Size Chart' and looking this one up, let's see here, whooa, this one is a killer. It says "All life forms will be wiped out when this one hits." So I guess Walter will win out by default at that point, huh?

God of Chaos has a podcast.

Like everyone else.

Listen to find if/when the show will impact earth.

Note that it's due on Friday the 13th.

So a small uneen object COULD, in theory, hit the asteroid AND if it was big enough, fast enough, and hit in just the right spot, it COULD deflect the asteroid towards Earth. I'm not holding my breath
