AHEM

Red squirrels – yes, the cute ones with furry ears from children’s books – have become the first identified animal host of one of the oldest diseases in recorded history. It seems these unassuming critters were responsible for spreading leprosy to people in medieval England.

Okay, who's in charge of the CGDAP (Committee to Get Dave Another Pulitzer)?

wanderer2575 - there is such a committee? Have to say that my experience, now that you mention this, is their is a seismic shift going on. My local used book store used to sell the Dave Barry books at half the cover price. Now they sell them at 5 cents a pound and they even loan you a cart to carry the books to you car. Perhaps if Barry Manilow were to head up this CGDAP thing? Maybe he could slightly alter the words to one of his famous songs - "I write the books." Sing the following to that tune:

"I write the books that make the whole world read
I write the books of love and special need
I write the books that make the young girls ***
I write the books, I write the books."

Doesn't surprise me. Squirrels have always been capable of no good.

This sounds like the chicken or the egg conundrum.
