THANK GOD FOR STUDIES

Song lyrics are getting angrier, more repetitive, study finds

(Thanks to Jim Kenaston, who says "To quote Bill Withers: 'And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,I know, I know'")

Oo-ee-oo-ah-ah, ting, tang, walla-walla bing-bang.

Bass intensity is also getting *way* more angrier, intense, repetitive and *expletive* annoying.

I am not disabling my ad blocker to read an article.
So song lyrics are getting angrier and more repetitive, eh? Sounds like the news and social media in general .. they give anyone a platform to vent their spleen to validate why they're right and the rest of us are wrong, for 'likes' or clicks.

About time! I remember some songs from the '80s with intros that lasted two or three minutes before the first verse began. Ten to fifteen seconds is more than enough.

Keep it simple and to the point. Hence the best ever intro --- the BANG! that opens "A Hard Day's Night". (And I have an old Rickenbacker 12-string from the '60s that can do it!)

99 bottles of beer on the wall
99 bottles of beer...

Right, simple and to the point.

For instance, Silver Convention had two songs, each consisting of exactly 6 words, and both reached at least #2.

"Fly, Robin, Fly" (#1) - fly, robin, up, to, the, sky.

"Get Up and Boogie " (#2) - get, up, and, boogie, that's, right.

I can't wait for pre-orders to be available and cop a copy of Barry Manilow's Memoirs,

"How I, through faith, got The Music in Me: I turned my life over to god, and heavy doses of mescaline, in the 70's and tripped my way to flourish as the principal Song Writer/Roadie while with the Silver Convention and KiKi Dee."

Oh, I havent read it yet, but it's great.

I guess that is likely true, I mean how far have we gone astray from Yummy, yummy, yummy, I've got love in my tummy."

Since that entire music catalog of the Remainders have been sold off for $5 I guess I am too late to do a detail study of their creations to see if this assertion is true. I do find in my quiet moments that I never hum one their hit.

Na na na na
Na na na na
Hey hey hey
Goodbye

ooga chacka, ooga chacka

na, na, na, nanana naaaa, nanana naaaa, hey Jude...
