SOON TO BE 'JAWS XII'

As you step closer to the waves, you see something on the sand. It’s almost 5 inches long and has pinchers protruding from its hardened body. Then it scurries toward you — and goes straight for your toes.

This little piggy strayed into the water .. Yikes!

Sounds like Hawthorne the Crab from Sherman's Lagoon.

But you're not worried. You're wearing golden sneakers.

When I lived in Galveston, it was common to step on a blue crab out in the water. Typically, you'd jump from being startled, and that was that. But once a big one took a dime-sized chunk out of my wife's foot. She wanted to catch it to get revenge come suppertime that night. Alas, it got away.

And y'all thought that crabs came ashore on the Captain's dingy?

The "Cyprus Toe-Biters" would be a good sports team name.
