AND IN PHILADELPHIA SPORTS

Phillies scrap Dollar Dog Night, cite unruly fans as 'tipping point'

Armed with projectile frankfurters, some unruly Phillies fans began chucking their favorite Hatfield meat during a game last season, and the dogs soared like cans of corn throughout the stands and onto the field.

(Thanks to Ron T)

Are there any ruly Phillies fans?

How poetic, I can almost see the mustard and relish.

A roof mounted, hotdog firing, remote controlled machine gun would make a great addition to the wienermobile.

Can they scrap the horrible renditions of the singing of the National Anthem while they are at it?

I don't see the problem. Just send the stray dogs to the bullpen to warm up.

Sounds like buns of fun.

What did they expect?

Stay around after the game for a performance by the Flying Burrito Brothers.

In a travesty not witnessed by this reporter since the Turkey Day Drop occurring scores ago, thousands of franks came to their early demise littering the playing field in a failed attempt by the Phillies organization to raise awareness of this nations many food deserts with their Buns of Fun promotion. As a recent winner of the Silver Sow Award I take umbridge at any effort to link this travesty in any way to the fine, hard working folks who support and work in the hog & corn markets.

"the dogs soared like cans of corn"
This is a simile I am unfamiliar with. Do they normally throw cans of corn? Creamed, of course.
