He should have hired a getaway driver driving a cop car & dressed as a cop, who would pretend arrest him, then his plan would have been flawless.

Oh, I don't know. Seems like it might be more lightly defended, as it's the last place you'd expect to be robbed, right?

Had a nearly identical situation here a month or two back. Guy robbed a bank that is in a strip-mall sort of location, with a cop substation just a little ways down the parking lot. He tried to get away by wandering into the drugstore next door (in full view of the bank employees) and pretending to be just another customer. Surprisingly, this scheme was unsuccessful.
