Okay, I'm genuinely clueless -- what's the problem here? The only thing I think of when someone says "shag" is 1970s carpeting. Or maybe someone catching a baseball.

Can see the carpet industry objecting to the use of this name. But they agree it is better than 'The Linoleums'.

I don’t know what it supposedly suggests, but here in the Carolinas, the shag is the state dance. It is danced to East Coast “beach music” of the 1950s and 1960s.
