You gotta be nuts to have a pet squirrel.

These guys should lose their jobs immediately. NEVER release one of these evil creatures.

Why do the firefighters have a pet squirrel?

I'm thinking some scary thoughts. Has anyone else seen the movie "Planet of the Apes"?

That 911 call must have been amusing.

This operation is not without its hazards to the animal - note the sad story at:
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bungled-rescue/.
Sometimes the pet does not survive. The hero/rescuers get to return to their firehouse and plop their butts into their La-Y-Boys whereas the poor animal ticks off one life off their allotment of nine lives.
