ok, when are the Roswell space aliens going to come out and save us from ourselves?

Are we sure that the signatories aren't just bots?

Roughly once a month my Google Home device forgets where I live. They might engineer a killer AI, but the subsequent software updates will render it into a moron. Entropy, man.

I don't see the big deal. Dinosaurs, dodos, honest politicians, the list of things gone extinct without the benefit of AI is really long.

It was really a disclosure so they wouldn't get sued in the event of extinction.

Just wait until those researchers hear about global climate change.

We have nothing to worry about. Remember, artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity. And the latter programmed the former. So how intelligent can it really be?

@anthony hight stewart - It has been so long since we heard from our resident Roswell connection (Le Petomane) that I begin to fear he has gone off and joined them.

So if the human race goes into 'extinction' then millions of years from now some archeologists will be attempting to describe our whack at civilization by reading the words written on the walls of the public bathrooms.

@pullet
That’s where the words of the prophets are written.

AI is popular because the real thing is in such short supply.
