In the GPS's defense, it was being influenced by a GPT chatbot.

I think I saw the same thing on an episode of "The Office".

If people don't call me first for directions and attempt to follow a GPS to my house, they can end up on an impassible logging road, or two miles west of my actual driveway. I haven't asked for any corrections. It helps avoid surprise visitors.

Since the GPS told them to go that way, they probably just assumed they had an amphibious car.
