CLOSURE

So it makes a certain kind of sense that Ongakuji, a temple whose name translates as “Music Temple,” offers funeral services for broken record player needles.

Will they do a service for Barry Manilow's career? If they are not cool with intangibles, we could offer a representative cassette tape. Other performers come to mind.

I'm encouraged by the fact that there are still record player needles to conduct such ceremonies for. For all its faults, there's still no better music reproduction system than an analog vinyl record.

Not everyone marches to the beat of the same drummer.

Reminds me of Radar saying "Time to put a new fang in the old tone-arm cobra" in the "Your Hit Parade" episode of M*A*S*H.

@ripleysparrow, although we (including I) poke fun at Barry, his career is still going and has lasted longer than a lot of other "popular" acts over the past 50 years.

Is there a funeral service for 8-track tape players?

@Burt - don't know about that, but I'm fervently hoping there's one bagpipes.

It might be appropriate if the temple music was stuck on a track and kept repeating....kept repeating...kept repeating...
