ANOTHER FUN ROYAL TRADITION (WE ARE USING 'FUN' IN THE SENSE OF 'INSANE')

I might introduce the idea to our family gatherings, just to make them less awkward

So you can't sneak out with the silverware.

Pulled into Buckingham
Was feeling bout half past dead
Just needed some place
Where I could get fed
Hey Govnah can you tell me
Where a man might find some bread
He just grinned and shook my hand
Put me on a scale instead

Brings to mind the old joke about the young lass who on her first date is asked what she would like to do and she says: "I wanna get weighed!" So her date takes her to a scale and then straight home. Once inside her mother asks her how her date was. Her reply: "WOUSY!"

It's an old religious tradition. It started with the birth of Christ, who weighed in at 7 pounds. You've never heard of a weigh in a manger?
Round John Virgin refused to step on the scales.

I believe Mate Peter Metrinko has a full-time opportunity waiting for him as the Royal Jester to Royal family. As far as the comment provided by cfjk, "Most guys just leave her hanging there."

Cap'n Dave says "What brilliant repartee, elegant persiflage, entertaining banter. Grog all around and a Pulitzer Prize for all. Let us party. But first, remember the DBblog prime directive - any gathering where humor is discussed must be done under the guidance and oversight of a medical professional."
"nursecindy, please demonstrate the proper Heimlich maneuver. Pay attention now as we need to be able to help those of us who will choke on a joke. You know who you are."
I love it when nursecindy does her thing and she starts it off every time by saying "This is going to leave a mark."
