Nails? I always used diaper pins but whatever floats her boat I guess. I've heard they have tape on disposable diapers now too.

That's scary. Why the nails? Do you nail them to trees and let them dry out after?

Here in Flathead County some people use duct tape or bailing wire to secure diapers, but most folks usually just use safety pins. Long nails seem rather drastic, maybe try superglue instead?

@nursecindy: interesting thing about the tape on disposable diapers. With my youngest (more than 20 years ago), I discovered that the tape has a luminescent charge. It was early morning and our family was staying at someone's house. The baby woke up and I didn't want to disturb Mr. MOTW by turning on a light, so I decided to change the diaper in the mostly dark room. When I pulled back the tape, there was a faint flash of light. I thought my eyes were deceiving me, so I put the tape back and then pulled it off again - another bit of light. Had to show Mr. MOTW once he woke up. He mansplained the science behind it, but I've forgotten since then.

Perhaps our dear Ralph will have some insight on this phenomenon.
