THE CIRCLE OF LIFE

A family walked 10 minutes to free a mouse they caught in their home only for it to be swooped up by magpies.

(Thanks to Fabian Marson, who, noting that this happened in Australia, says “They were surprised because they thought a snake would grab it instead.”)

Well, if their goal was to keep the mousey from re-entering their abode, then well done, mission accomplished!

Sounds like some crazy Buddhist ritual.

I attended something similar. A bunch of Buddhist's bought a whole batch of small fish to be released in a pond in Miami. They did the entire ritual, released the fish, who were then promptly eaten by the larger fish in the pond.

Oh Well!

Sounds like one of the classic old Warner Brothers cartoons.

They wanted to get rid of the mouse, didn't they? I fail to see the problem

Reminds me of the sea otter that was soiled in the Exxon Valdez oil Spill. The crowd is cheering as the otter is released into the ocean. The crowd is still cheering as the otter floats out further, resting on it's back, seeming to wave at the shore. Then the orca comes up underneath the otter and swallows it whole. The crowd stopped cheering.
