Full disclosure: I'd never heard the term "cattery". But it sounds like a place of business that doesn't really have to do with felines. Interesting that type of business would have an emu.

Wouldn't their limit be determined largely by the length of their nose?

There are those who would consider ham sniffing as foreplay.

Any word on the “trout sniffers”?

You have to have a keen eye to spot a ham sniffer.
