When I was in college (Move that dinosaur out of the way!) I made the error of wanting to date a former cheerleader and homecoming queen. One of my professors went so far as to warn me not to do so, describing Miss Ex-Cheerleader as "a basket case".

A few years later, I learned he was right. As one of my friends told me: "That glimmer in her eyes? It's the same vacant stare as a deer caught in the headlights.'
