A Georgia woman who left an emergency room after waiting for hours without seeing a doctor said she walked away with her injury untreated and a $700 charge simply for showing up.

Why is she complaining? They obviously gave her a substantial discount for occupying that chair at a rate of only $100 per hour.

The sad part is that the injury was emotional because McD's forgot her dipping sauce.

She should send them a bill for accepting and reading their email. I think a $1000 sounds about right. I worked in the ER for years and I’ve never heard of anything like this.

Emory Healthcare patient financial services employee said: "You get charged before you are seen. Not for being seen."

Well now .. that process brings all sorts of other services into financial focus, doesn't it? Please don't let Washington legislators hear about this or we'll all be taxed for not being seen. (as if this is not already the case, smph)

This is adding invoice to injury.
