It's interesting to study the diversion in the application of legal action of police matters in different states nowadays.
In some parts of California, the police would immediately stop the pursuit. Apologize to the crooks for any stress they may have suffered from those awful sirens and give them a chit for free psychiatric counseling.
In Colorado, the perps will actually suffer some nasty words and mandatory probation with weekly counseling sessions.
In Texas, the future jury foreman would be busy knotting a brand new rope for use after a brief trial.
