IT ORDERED THE SALMON

A bear ran into a Gatlinburg restaurant Friday afternoon, according to visitors who witnessed the incident.

(Thanks to John Wheat, who says "Bartender says, 'You want to watch the Cubs?'”)

If this happened at a WAFFELHOUSE we'd see a ton of selfies with the bear on social media. If this happened in Florida the bear would have been given free booze until he passed out on the sidewalk.

"We don't see many bears in this restaurant."

"At these prices, you won't see many more."

I'll be here all week, folks. Tip your waitstaff well.

I'm reminded of the late, great Steve Fromholz's song "Bears". The last verse:

So meet a bear and take him out to lunch with you
And even though your friends may stop and stare
Just remember that's a bear there in the bunch with you
And they just don't come no better than a bear
That's what Aunt Minnie always said

If this bear had ran into a Flathead County restaurant or bar, it would have received a grand welcome. Mystery meat stew is always a fast selling special on the menu and bear rugs sell quickly to tourists. Our local bears are more skittish and nervous that those in Gatlinburg for some reason.

An unbearable hangover!

Was there a priest and rabbi?

In his defense, he thought it was Starbucks, since he'd heard they were looking to hire bearistas, (because that's what the the priest and the rabbi told him back at the bar).

Sometimes you just have to grin and bear it.
