Internet down in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., after beaver chews through fibre cable
(Thanks to The Perts, Ralph, wiredog, pharmaross, Amoeba Stampede, Roberto, Nigel Grout and Not My Usual Alias, who says "We know the squirrels are behind this, eh?")
No doubt they learned this from the squirrels in West Virginia.

In another very bizarre, strange OK, and uniquely Canadian turn of events, Tumbler Ridge was immediately renamed 'Beaver Shot Palace' which was previously the name of the local high school's library.
Bonus comment: My high school's library was affectionately called The Beaver Shot Palace. I didn't get the idea for the comment above, however bizarre it may appear, from this comment.

Most people use their cable to watch beavers, so that's kinda ironic.

I don't think this is the first time a beaver has broken the Internet. Remember the Kim Kardashian incident?

Rod Nunley, to be absolutely accurate, that was a somewhat rare species of Brazilian beaver...

Brazilian is to beaver as suede is to mink.
