I wonder why he says to avoid the endcap spots. I think those are best, as nobody can park next to you on that side and your car won't get dinged.

I could see a store offering some sort of prize to someone who could prove they actually did this. Might make a nice promotional contest. You could rig it so that a given space would never be empty, yet you'd have all these people making extra trips to the store to try to win the prize.
And yes, of course this sounds crazy. But when did that ever stop anybody from trying to win something worth less than what they spent trying to win it?
