Ridley should try Nice 'N Easy 6TR, truest red. I have a male friend that says that works pretty well for him.

Both the Scarlet and Western Tanagers, which nest in the US, are gaudier than any of the pictured 'tripical tangers.' While the Scarlet Tanager sticks to basic red and black, the male Western Tanager comes in the colors of a technicolor sunset. We happened to catch them migrating through Bandelier Natl Monument in NM about this time of year, a feast for the eyes.
