A picture of the venomous Mediterranean hitchhiking recluse spider would have been helpful. But possibly they are so good at being reclusive, no pictures have ever been taken?

We gave Michigan to Australia?!

Venomous Spiders really should look for a more appropriate venue to play. Back in the day, I loved their opening set for David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars.

The real scandal will break when it is discovered they were on the payroll as teaching assistants. The ability to cause tissue death in undergrads was a prerequisite.

Are we sure they weren't planted as part of a fraternity initiation ritual?

Based on this, there should be a prompt, temporary Australia shutdown.

Here in North Carolina, it's not unusual to see Black Widow and Brown Recluse spiders in some of our buildings. But do we run and tell the newspapers about it? No! We're tougher than that. We just stomp the daylights out of them and then go on about our business! Years ago I went to clock out after a long day at work and there was a Coral snake laying under the time clock. I called the owner and they said they hoped it wasn't expecting to be paid. The maintenance guy, who was more afraid of it than I was, finally got rid of it. On the plus side, I got a little overtime!

Sometimes an old fashioned book burning is the only logical choice.

The famous writer, Ray Bradbury, said that heating to a temperature of 451 degrees Fahrenheit will destroy any library spiders along with the library and those 'offensive' books that gave them shelter.
