I-i-'m dreaming .. of a falling iguana
Just like the ones I used to know (ba-ba-ba-boo)
And the reptiles glisten
As children listen
To hear thudding in the yard

It still beats raking leaves and shoveling snow.

On the bright side, falling iguanas and lazy snakes will keep your cat entertained.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go. There's a couple raking snakes, and a neighbor shoveling iguanas... ...but the scariest sight to see, is the gator lurking there, by your own, front, door

It's 48 right now where I am, and I know just how the lizards and snakes feel.

♫
It's raining iguanas,
Hallelujah
It's raining iguanas!

Someone misheard the lyrics to Spiders and Snakes.

You think that's bad...I have a neighbor named Noel who pronounces it "Noelle"
See - Noelle or Noëlle is the feminine form of the usually masculine name Noel.
See more - I can't bring myself to call him Noelle. That song now gives me the creeps.

Our temperatures got down into the mid-20s last night so I'm feeling a little slow and lazy today too.
Kudos to MOTW!

One the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...one lazy snake
One the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...two falling iguanas, one lazy snake....
and so on
I don't live in Florida but I bet it would not be hard to finish the entire song up to 12 from stuff from this blog. Somebody should write one for Australia too (I'm too lazy)

@ man tom - You are not alone. They play a pronunciation-challenged version of that song on the bread aisle at my little local supermarket, and it comes out "No way, no way, no way, no way...." Not to mention Angels We Have Hod on High. (Slim Whitman infests the fruit and vegetable section.)
@ nursecindy - I thought of you yesterday when I went into a bigger local supermarket and was treated to Brenda Lee's Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree as I walked through the door.
:D

If you key this video up and think it's *stupid* I recommend moving forward to about 1:30 into the video where the guy sings The 12 Days of Gen X Christmas. If you listen to one version of the song this holiday season make it this version.
The 12 days of Gen X Christmas
I believe this guy could be a wonderful disc Jockey at our local 'the place to go for holiday music FM radio station.' If not, I highly recommend him to at least choose the playlist this holiday season.
Oh, mad hatter should enjoy the words to the song enough to rejoice.
