Ode to 2020
thy may be gone, but never forgotten
Your stay was really quite rotten
people were coughing and squirrels attacking
hugs and kisses garnered a ticket
visiting town was a bit of sticky wicket
going into a store or a bank without wearing a mask
was a 911 risk
lockdowns became worse to endure than lockjaw
Taverns were boarded up and restaurants went broke
2020 thy was one rotten,infected,rancid bloke
May 2021 arrive as a soothing balm of Preparation H
And people in bars singing 'Happy Days are here again'
and a rousing HAPPY NEW YEAR to y'all

AAAArrghh! Why, WHY, if SyFy is going to bother showing Twilight Zone reruns, do they have to chop them up like a steer in a butcher shop? It's an hour into the new year and already I am wound up. I think I'll have another glass of whiskey and watch my own marathon from the DVDs.
