It is well known to rural pranksters that cows will climb stairs with encouragement but refuse to descend. I heard this from my uncles, who were known for placing cows and other objects on the roof of their high school. The cow was east compared to disassembly and reassembing the principal's Model T also on the roof. Grandpa wished he could get that much work out of them on the farm.
