Stay one caribou apart.

This spacing would depend on the size of the caribou. In any instance you would have an agitated caribou to deal with and keeping it still long enough to measure would be a problem.

I like the sourdough bread loaf measurement best.

However, a grizzly bear with cubs would definitely be a way to insure social distancing.

@Le Pet, you know some idiot is going to interpret this to mean it's okay to walk up to six feet away from a caribou or grizzly bear.

I've never seen a caribou so I'm going to have to take their word on this one.

A caribou bit my sister.

@wanderer2575--Darwin agrees with you fully. There are some things a person only does once...

I am surprised they didn't use two wolverines as a measurement, that would also be fun to watch.

2/3 of the population of the Yukon (total about 40,000) lives in Whitehorse, and few people there have ever seen a wild caribou. The nearest herd accessible by road is well south of the city.

I've been to the Yukon many times in the summer and seen far more bears, moose, ravens, etc. than caribou. They're migratory, and you have to be in the right place at the right time.

Yukoners have so far managed to limit COVID-19 to 11 known cases. Medical facilities are very limited, and they really need to be careful to prevent more. Now is not the time to go there to see caribou, or anything else.
