NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Only if 1) they bring back 'Let's Make a Deal' and 2) They award a LOT of consolation prizes.

Harvest Gold, on the other hand....

JG,We had Harvest Gold scratch-and-dent sale appliances in our first kitchen. Since that color does not wear well, I pity anyone who had an Avocado kitchen.

We had a green kitchen - not by choice, I must add - in an apartment 40 years ago. Green cabinets, avocado refrigerator and stove.

No wonder I did drugs then.

My parents had a green refrigerator for about a year. I was just a kid and don't know why.

Re My last post, I know why I was a kid, I didn't know why the appliance was replaced.

I liken it to Cher's latest farewell tour.

coscolo - the best way to describe the 'decor' in my first appartment is that it was eclectic.
It was what Martha Stewart would have, if she was in hell.

I grew up with an avocado green kitchen, complete with green and yellow plaid wallpaper installed by a highway patrolman, in my parent's house. Never again. However, I'd take one of those any day over the all white kitchen, complete with white marble kitchen island, stainless steel appliances, white subway tiles, and white tile floors, that looks like they're going to be deconstructing a dead human body in there at any time. I always look for the floor drain in those.
btw, the highway patrolman put up the wallpaper because he did that on the side.

The first house we ever bought over 50 years ago had an avocado refrigerator, white stove and a yellow sink. For for some odd reason, we called it our Timothy Leary dream kitchen.

What's the status of multi-colored shag carpeting?

Good evening, ma'am. Oh, Cindy, is it? Well, I pulled you over because one of your tail lights is out. I'm going to have to give you this citation and install green and yellow plain wallpaper in your kitchen.

I've had several opportunities in the last few years to acquire cheap avocado appliances at yard and estate sales. I passed because I don't have orange formica countertops.

For the love of all that’s Holy.....

Just in case anyone is interested, I recently removed three avocado green vintage appliances from my time capsule kitchen. All are Caloric brand. The most iconic is the in wall oven. It is just like the one the Brady’s had. I always sort of expected to meet Alice in the kitchen. I also have the gas cook top and matching hood. Did I mention that they are all avocado green? Replacing the kitchen was my first task when we bought the new house.

Years ago when Mr. MOTW and I were buying our first home, my number one criteria was NO AVOCADO anything: carpet, appliance, bathroom fixtures.

The hapless realtor actually brought us into a home with an atrium (like the Brady's had) and the first door on the right was the guest bathroom: avocado green tub and sink. I turned around and walked out of the house. The realtor ran after us and asked me what was wrong. "I told you not to waste my time with a house that has avocado green anything!"

The Pirate Parents still have an avocado green tiled bathroom. It looks like the shower you were always scared to use back in high school
