A Kansas man has asked an Iowa judge to let him engage in a sword fight with his ex-wife and her attorney so that he can “rend their souls” from their bodies.

As one does.

This event should be held in Flathead County.

I'll suggest jousting as a possible alternative.

I don't see a problem here.

Sounds reasonable to me too.

OK, but first he has to prove that they have souls.

I remember reading a Western story set in an alternate universe. Both sides retained lawyers who met on the street for a gunfight to determine which side won. The losing lawyer was, of course, shot and the person who hired him was hung after a suitable crowd could be assembled to attend the event.

I suppose swords could be substituted for guns. Either way, the good news would be they wound up short a lawyer.

Why didn't I think of that?
