Packers, Raiders forced to play on shortened field with different rules due to unsafe conditions in Canada

This reads very much like an article from "The Onion."

Okay, I'll say it first: This would be a non-issue for the Detroit Lions because they don't use that part of the field.

Is this a 'metric' thing?

The Packers declared 33 players would be held out. Yep, almost all rookies left...

A college football game at Wrigley Field had to be played with only one end zone. Thankfully, the University of Illinois was playing so there wasn't a problem.

For some reason this reminded me of this clip from "The Games", a genius Australian series about preparations for the Sydney Olympics:

But in the present case, couldn't the USA just buy Canada and order Canadian companies to fix the problem with the field?

Incidents like this is what inspired the South Park writers to record the Academy Award winning song; "Blame Canada"
