A New Species of Leech Is Discovered Near Washington, D.C

There's an obvious typo here. "Near" should be "in".

I think they were originally discovered right around 1776.

Wait, Congress isn't new.

I wonder if any of their forefathers killed George Washington ? (saw an article that said George may have been leeched to death).

I always thought most of them were in the Senate and some in the White House.

Leeches are bloodsuckers. It just makes sense they're found in Washington.
