I'd swear ESPN used to show this in its earliest days when it needed programming to fill time.

I do miss Australian football on Sunday mornings from those days....

"Led by the stunt actor and former sailor Alvin "Shipwreck" Kelly, flagpole sitting was a fad in the mid-to-late 1920s..." on the US:

The pole dosen't mind? Have they tried sitting on the French?

I used to date a girl that also...

Ah, never mind.

As a Pole I do not want any Dutch men seating on me. But women...

I can see my ex, who is from the Netherlands, doing this. All he'd need would be a TV showing endless loops of The Andy Griffith Show and Hogan's Heroes and he'd be happy. I didn't call him Mr. Excitement for nothing!
