A New Jersey school district is considering a plan to punish students who owe more than $10 in lunch debt by serving them tuna sandwiches on whole wheat bread.

They made over $200,000 in profit and this Lynn Shugars wants to give poor kids a tuna sandwich for lunch every day? I wonder if this moron realizes that those lunches may be the only meal a kid gets? I say put her in jail for a couple of weeks, give her a nutritious tuna sandwich once a day, and then see how she feels about her idea.

Stupid b!tch.

A tuna sandwich was all I asked my mom for, received in my lunch bag all through elementary school. Tuna or peanut butter and jelly. I turned out OK, honest. Twitch twitch.

Is it too late to claim abuse?

What's wrong with a tuna sandwich?

If they really wanted the kids to pay up, they'd serve liver and Brussels sprouts.

Or mystery meat with brown 'gravy' and noodles.

If it turns out that haughty teacher made those poor kids eat tuna and kale salad sandwiches, I believe she would be violating the Geneva Convention.

Which, in Texas, is a hanging offense.

Could be worse. Charlie Brown got a peanut butter sandwich and a banana for his lunch every day.

Kids don't realize how good they've got it. What ever happened to 7 years as a galley slave ?

Clankie--Or spending years in a college dorm subsisting on Ramen noodles.

What Rod said.

We once got tuna fish on raisin bread. True story.
Right up there a a memory with evil-smelling cheese soup that had multi colored mystery bit floating around in it. Yuck.

Seeker: from school or home? Either way: Eek

Amen, nursecindy.

They'd probably get better grades. Better grades, or murcury poisoning. Is it albacore or the catfood grade tuna? Because albacore, paradoxically, contains higher levels of mercury.
