The white whale flipped the offending harness into a fishing boat an headed for freedom. The past few years had been stressful. Some dude with a peg leg had tried to stab him, then he was captured by Russians and forced to help in some sort of collusion, whatever that is. The whale decided to spend some relaxing time off the Oregon Coast. Nothing exciting could happen there.
