Coffee not essential for life, Swiss government says

The Swiss are big fans of coffee, consuming about 9kg (20lb) per person per year.

Smph! We go through 21 lbs. a month - ~63 lbs. per person per year.

I can probably survive but anyone coming near me may not be so lucky.

Not essential...? Not if you're already high from lack of oxygen.

I agree with MOTW. My first thought was if that's all they drink then they're nothing but a bunch of Swiss yodeling amateurs.

And then, when all the Swiss are sleepy, we strike!

So they aren't neutral on this?

I'm not taking any chances.

US government has strategic reserves of cheese, as I read on this blog. Maybe we cpuld send them our 20 years old cheese for their 20 years old stale coffee.
On a second thought, that would probably start a war.
