A good friend who worked for a major Colorado mining company was sent to Australia to temporarily manage a gold mine because the resident manager "Had left unexpectedly."
He later said he missed a clue there. His "temporary" job lasted over a year. He said the venomous critters are nowhere near as numerous as people thought, but that like dealing with dynamite, it usually takes only one mistake to visit The Promised Land.
He started to get out of bed one morning, but thought he saw something move by his boots. It was a Brown snake. He said to survive there assume if it crawls, walks or flies----it's venomous.
