A 52-year-old Florida man used a stolen identity to pay for $40,000 worth of dental work and to buy a $10,000 puppy, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.

He got taken. No one pays $ 10K for a puppy that needs $ 40K worth of dental work.

Is the dental work going to be confiscated by police?

He does have a lovely smile now.

The perp misunderstood "Taking a bite out of crime."

Timothy Powell told them he was recruited by thieves who encouraged him to have his teeth extracted and replaced with dental implants so he would look better for future fraudulent transactions.

Totally plausible and no reason to be suspicious.

Get a rope for him, but I'm concerned about the puppy.
