I believe a war over pastry naming erupted in France sometime in the 1500's. When they met on the battlefield, both sides surrendered. I suspect this confrontation may just be a repeat.


Wasn't "Pastry-name War" a daytime television game show hosted by Gene Rayburn?

And then there's the Cronut...

The pastry war was the first French grab at Mexico in 1838. They won, and the Mexicans had to pay 600,000 pesos and extra cinnamon on the churros.
