A digital clock will not help them discover 6:00 AM

They can't "sign" their names either.
Get the heck off my lawn, whippersnappers!

Ask a teenager to "dial" a real phone (if you still have one in the attic). Hilarity ensues.

I doubt that I could tell the time on an "analogue" clock. Too many extra vowels.

The end of civilization as we know it.

Kids today already have bigger problems to deal with, many spend too much time wondering why they have ten fingers when they only use their two thumbs.

The White Rabbit Syndrome.

I fully believe this. Some years ago a kid asked me the time, I told him it was "ten to five," and he could not comprehend. I had to say "4:50."
Don't even bother trying to explain to them what "25 or 6 to 4" means.

If schools replaced analogue clocks with sundials, it would be fun to watch.

^5 Jeff. If I want to encrypt a note to my husband, I write it in cursive and post it on the fridge. He's the only one who can read it.

“To be able to grip a pencil and move it, you need strong control of the fine muscles in your fingers. Children need lots of opportunity to develop those skills,"
I had no idea that all those years when I was learning to write, color, and knit that I was actually working out. I suddenly feel a lot better about myself!
Maybe it's just me but, if you can't hold a pencil or tell the time on a regular clock, then you probably can't pass a test either.

Fortunately, they can still tie their shoes.

Before they leave home, they should just ask what time it is and write it down. That way they'll be able to look at it all day. That's what we did when we were kids, and we liked it!

I recall that the world was supposed to end a few days ago, so at this point it really shouldn't matter what time it is. That said, the future ain't what it used to be.

I remember doing the Time Warp.

My 30-year-old niece has never been able to grasp the concept of "quarter till" and "quarter after."
Posted by: Rudolph | April 25, 2018 at 11:07 AM
Does anybody really know what time it is?
Does anybody really care?
If so I can't imagine why.
Posted by: Chicago | April 25, 2018 at 11:11 AM
I really want to be amused by this, but honestly it is just sad.

If you really want to have some fun.....
If a kid asks you what time it is tell them in military time! Bwahahahahaha.
I grew up in the Air Force so it's second nature to me but not so much to others. I once tried to explain to a 16 year old how military time works but to no avail. I ended up needing a drink and they had to take some Tylenol.

If only someone would invent some sort of "learning institution" where kids could go to figure out things like this.
Posted by: nursecindyfanclub | April 25, 2018 at 02:04 PM
Eventually they will teach the kids to use analog time.
Unfortunately it will only be covered in History class.

One dependable thing about analogue clocks: Even the busted ones are right twice a day.
Posted by: Le Petomane | April 25, 2018 at 05:04 PM
We don't need analog clocks, right? How many of us have wilderness survival skills? Now that's the sad loss.

@Ron G - Too true!

Mexico is going to pay for the new clocks. Make clocks great again!
