"He intended to pick up his child at South Elgin High School but inadvertently went to her former school," Olsem's letter read.

(Thanks to Not My Usual Alias, who says "There but by the grace of God went I a few years back.  We've played soccer at either the middle school or the high school and I turned into the other one when the GPS said to turn.")

Been there, done that. Or went to the correct school but asked for the wrong one of my two daughters.

Fortunately, my girls go to fairly small schools, so I just get a patronizing smile and a chance to fix my mistake rather having the police called.

I have called kids by the wrong name when picking them up. Luckily the school secretary knows the family and that Cubbie is a dog and not the tween.

I have a feeling he won't be getting a "World's Greatest Dad" mug for Father's Day.
NMUA, I'm constantly calling my daugher Ginger. Her name is Jennifer. Our Chihuahua is Ginger.

When angry, My wife would go through the entire faily until she finally got to the name she actually wanted. She sent me to pick up "your daughter", but gave me the wrong name. My eldest ws amazed to be called to the office, when it was her younger sister who had got into trouble. AT another school. 3 miles away...
