Most dog owners would rather hang out with their pet than people

My daughter bought her dad, my ex, a floating frame for Christmas. I'm not sure what this is but evidently it's the latest thing. She called me last week and said he'd put a picture of himself and his dog in the frame. She was a little upset because he'd cut everybody else out of the picture. I asked him why he'd cut his children out of the picture and he said it was because they all wouldn't fit and the dog never borrows his car or asks for money.

Several years ago I bought my parents (my father, primarily) a wood sign I saw in a catalog: "Dogs Welcome / People Tolerated." My father wasted no time mounting the sign on the front porch next to the door.

When I showed this article to my dogs they read it and just laughed..

Cat owners, on the other hand, prefer to spend their time away from home.

I have a 16 year old beagle I love dearly. He's over at my sister's right now because I have some very long days working the rest of this week. Miss him a bunch. Beagle therapy after a long, congested commute from a jobsite is essential. He should be named Dr. Entropy, so lazy that time stops around him. Exercise? Shambling along, sniffing everything, at about 1/4mph is fresh air, but hardly exercise. I talk to him constantly. I know it's time to get a date when he starts answering back...audibly...in English.

My dogs are concerned with my well-being, unlike all you people. Then again, they can't open cans.
