Grand Traverse sheriff’s Lt. Brian Giddis said deputies arrested a 46-year-old man after his wife, 36, told authorities her husband had drunkenly destroyed their apartment, threatened to slit his wrists with a box cutter and set a saxophone ablaze on a balcony.

Sounds like a real party animal! Or, at least an animal...

They both seem impartial to hot jazz, fer some reason...

Buy her an accordion.

The suspect — in a “really responsible” attempt to control the blaze — removed the instrument from its fur-lined case and instead stuffed it with paper to stoke the flames,

well That doesn't sound like safe sax

at least shes blowing something.

On that note...

If she had played the bagpipes instead of a saxophone, the man would garner a lot more sympathy.

Most guys want to have more sax

If, in a moment of madness, you've ever enrolled a five-year-old in Suzuki violin, you've felt this guy's pain.

Just another domestic sax and violence story.

He'll be solo soon enough.

Shoddy reporting: what kind of sax (soprano, alto, tenor, bass)?
What brand/model?

I had two kids in band at the same time. One played the clarinet and the other played the alto sax. No mother on that jury, who has had to suffer through practice, will convict him.

Jimi Hendrix, he is not.

Everybody's a critic...

Saxamaphone! Saxamaphone!

NurseCindy: You must have been a fan of Adam 12's Officer Malloy, as you had too much Reed in your house.
