I would venture that chef has some rather extreme views. I would reserve executions only for vegans who force kale on little children, the elderly and infirm. Perhaps the survivors could be sent to indoctrination camps and become redeemed.

Vegans are a bit like a new-agey religious sect, but "killing" is definitely extreme. "Studiously avoiding" is usually sufficient.
