He could have had it flown in from the KFC in Inuvik, or other Canadian cities with flights to Yellowknife.

I once flew a short hop on a puddle jumper from Juneau returning to Skagway Alaska. Some airport workers in Skagway ordered a bucket of KFC from Juneau for lunch, and the whole plane smelled for the 30 minute flight. Unfortunately, it was inaccessible in the cargo hold.

Some people really like thighs.
